The Verve Cup Inshore Regatta was held August 24-26 for 53 teams in Chicago, IL. Open to one-design fleets for boats 30 feet 6 inches long or shorter, the event attracted 10 J/70s who got in nine races. By way of keeping all their scores in the top three, Mark & Sarah Renz’s Berteau Group topped the fleet with 17 points. Keeping close throughout was Martin Johnsson’s Aquaholiks in second place with 22 points. Bob Willis’ Rip Rullah was a distant third with 43.
