The annual Fiesta Cup Regatta hosted by Santa Barbara Yacht Club is one of the most popular events of the sailing season as it coincides with a huge fiesta hosted downtown by the city of Santa Barbara. In the nine-boat J/70 fleet, it was a battle for the podium between four boats. In the end, past champion Pat Toole and friends on 3 BIG DOGS won with a 1-1-3-1-3-1 tally for 10 points net. Losing that struggle in the final race was multiple World Champions David Ullman and Jack Franco sailing USA 3 to finishes of 2-1-3-1-2-2 for 11 points net. Completing the podium was Ryan Cox’s DJ with a tally of 3-2-4-2-1-3 for 15 points net. The fourth of that group was Scott and Susie Deardorff’s CAKE with a 2-3-2-3-4-4 record for 18 points net.
