The J/70 Great Lakes Championship was sailed on June 18-20 as part of Cleveland Race Week One Design weekend out of Edgewater Yacht Club in Cleveland, OH. Thirteen teams competed representing Illinois, Michigan, New York and Ohio. Everyone was happy to be back sailing in a regatta after these many months of social isolation and limited sailing events. The 2021 J/70 Great Lakes Champions are the team of Lee Sackett and Dave Kerr from Cleveland. Martin Johnsson’s Aquaholiks from Chicago coming off their recent Chicago NOOD victory finished in second place. Tod Sackett’s team FM finished in third place.
