A mix of one-design Classes and handicap fleets embracing cruising boats, shorthanded sailors, and random leg racing was the format for the 2018 COLORS Regatta on June 2-3 in Chicago, IL with 107 teams on Lake Michigan. Five J/70s competed in the Inshore Course Racing One Design Division, getting off five races. Mark & Sarah Renz’s Berteau Group notched three bullets to end with 8 points and the victory. Hot on their heels was Adam Bowen’s Black Pearl who won the other two races and finished with 9 points. John Heaton’s Empeiria rounded out the top three with 15 points.
